The Teacher Talent Show

Table of Content

National Honor Society hosted a fundraiser to help “Achers of Love” build an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico.  With many children living on the streets, this organization desires to give home, food, and clothing to 50 orphans by 2018.  For two weeks, students voted for the teacher they wanted to see sing, dance, or play an instrument by putting money in their buckets.  The teachers with the most votes had to perform their talent during chapel.  NHS raised over $600 for the orphanage. Mr. Haynie wrote and performed “The Southlands Blues” with the help of Mrs. Velarde. Mrs. Gantt amazed us with a song on her violin she claims she hasn’t performed in over ten years. Ms. Martinez took us to the islands with Moana’s “How Far I’ll Go.”
