At Southlands Christian High School, we value college readiness for every student. Southlands Christian Schools is committed to providing college counseling services to students in grades 9-12. The school counseling program facilitates development in three broad areas: academic, career and personal/social development. Each area of student development encompasses a desired outcome or goal. In keeping with the national standards and goals developed by the American School Counselor Association, Southlands offers individualized counseling services for each student. Students will be able to acquire the right attitudes and skills that contribute towards effective learning patterns while at school. To help with this, our counseling services will develop personalized graduation plans for each student, and will continue to monitor their progress and come up with action plans if there are any areas they may be struggling in. Along with academic preparedness, we offer students a means of learning skills that will help them in the world of work and achieve future career success. They will learn interpersonal skills that will help them understand and respect themselves and others.

To further aid students in their journey through high school and towards college, we invite admissions representatives from many universities to visit with Southlands juniors and seniors. They will help students to understand further what colleges are looking for in their applicants. Our counselors will also follow-up with students, write letters of recommendation for them, and provide workshops to help them achieve the most wholistic knowledge they can. We will walk with students hand-in-hand, ensuring that excellence in their education and in life will continue once they have graduated from Southlands.
