Southlands Pledges to Speak Up and #DoLikewise

Last week our middle school and high school students participated in a school-wide anti-bullying week. We kicked off the campaign to stop bullying with a special chapel service on Tuesday, March 21.

Teachers shared some of their personal experiences with bullying and talked about the negative and sometimes lifelong effects on victims and bullies.

Students reflected upon this Bible passage and how they could practice loving their neighbors as themselves and how they could follow Jesus’ words to “go and do likewise”.

The week culminated with a pledge against bullying and students signed a banner to choose kindness and speak up. Southlands is taking a proactive approach to stop bullying and even prevent it from starting.
