Meet Our Staff Mondays: Mr. David Gantt

Words and photo by: Matthew Herrera

We are bringing M.O.S (Meet Our Staff) back, so why not start off with someone awesome? This week, we would like to introduce Mr. Gantt!

He started working for Southlands in 2012, and integrated with our family so naturally. He discovered Southlands through a friend who worked in the area, called our school, had an interview, and in the words of Mr. Gantt himself, “The rest is history!”

His passion for kids is seen in the work he produces. Simply showing it is not enough for him. He feels that it is important to verbalize his appreciation for both his job and students. For Mr. Gantt, his students serve as the highlight of his day, and are one of the reasons he gets out of bed. He loves that his students make teaching fun, and he enjoys spending time with them.

According to Mr. Gantt, one of the many things that makes our school unique is the fact that our commitment goes beyond academics. Both our staff and teachers encourage the students to grow in all areas. Our school offers great academics, but we as a family want to see our students excel in everything.

We all have a verse that holds a lot of value in our personal life, and for Mr. Gantt it’s Ephesians 2:8-9. The verse reads, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” This verse serves as a reminder that our debt has been paid for, and we can walk knowing that we are forgiven.

Stay Southlands Strong!
