Southlands Spotlight: Miss Leo

words & photo by: Matthew Herrera

This Monday we would like to put the spotlight on our favorite librarian, Miss Leo! She found Southlands through her friend Mrs. Sino-Cruz, and began by taking part in our summer camp program. Since the start of her journey here at Southlands, her new favorite part of her job is interacting with the amazing staff and kids.

Something key that makes Miss Leo so perfect for this position is her passion for kids. The desire to see every child she encounters feeling happy and appreciated is her ultimate goal.

Around campus, Miss Leo is known for her funny personality, patient ears and kind heart. She is loved not only by the staff, but by the student body on campus.

The scripture that has had a big impact on her life would be Esther 4:11 which reads: “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned, the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king”. This verse is a constant reminder that amongst all the chaos in our lives, God continues to have a plan for our future.

We ended our interview by asking Miss Leo what she is looking forward to the most this upcoming school year. She happily replied by sharing that she is, “looking forward to spending time with the kids.”

If you see Miss Leo on campus, make sure to say hello, and surprise her with vanilla ice cream- it’s her favorite!

AND AS ALWAYS…. STAY SOUTHLANDS STRONG!
