“Stop. Drop and Roll!” The Fire Department Visits our Preschool

Table of Content

Our Preschool students really enjoyed a recent visit from the Fire Department.  This is not only a fun time for our preschoolers but a chance for them to learn about the principles of how to respond during an emergency.  The fire fighters spoke to the children about what to do if fire gets on them;  “Stop. Drop and Roll!”  We talked about calling 911 in an emergency and some of our children made 911 hats to help them remember what phone number to call in case of an emergency.
The children loved seeing the fire truck up-close. One of our students, Sarena Yu from Mrs. Jackie’s Class, was outfitted in the protective gear a fireman wears when confronting a fire.  Sarena was a trooper and was able to stand up under the weight of the gear which usually weighs 60 to 70 pounds.

It was a fun and educational time.
